Karen chose Evergreen, Colorado for the photo shoot; she wanted a scenic spot in the mountains not too far from the front range. Other than a cool, spring breeze attempting to blow my hat off my noggin, Evergreen Lake Park provided the perfect backdrop!
A recent change of career brought Karen back to me for new professional business headshots. I've worked with her on a few occasions, including her twins' senior photos and family portraits. She has a gorgeous family of young women; she's practically the picture of a perfect mom. She has an integrity and quiet strength that shows in every feature, and her smile is one of the most genuine I've ever seen. It's hard not to feel comfortable around her because she's so friendly and easy to talk to. She needed professional portraits for social media and her current job search, and I was more than happy to oblige. I love photographing headshots! It's what I cut my teeth on when starting out my business 7 years ago.
Karen is one of the most photogenic people I've ever seen, so I'd be lying if I said this photo shoot didn't seem effortless. There was very little sunshine due to the cloud cover, but the diffused light was perfect for natural-light portraits. However, I decided to amp it up a bit by using my Cheetah QBox Beauty Dish/Octa Soft Box to add fill light and supplement the catch lights in her eyes. With a few carefully angled frames, I was able to capture both the beauty of nature and my client's professionalism and character.
If you or anyone else are thinking about professional business headshots, do yourself a favor and choose a professional photographer for the job. Your professional portrait needs to be strong and lasting. Your image depends on it!The interview invitations have already started to roll in for Karen. Congratulations! It's been a pleasure working with you again!

From the moment that I met Brenna for our initial consultation in a local coffee shot, I adored her. She's an old soul and a truly a delight to be around. We spent much of her senior session chatting about her life and the lives of seniors in general. Her personality was sweet and kind. Her opinions and attitudes were so selfless and empathetic, yet educated and intelligent. She even dug politics and wants a career working in them. So, so cool. I walked away wishing I'd had a friend just like Brenna when I was 17. I'm really thankful that she chose me as her senior portrait photographer.
Fall is my busy season. Oh my goodness. Not complaining though, and I'm very, very thankful for being so busy. Its the one thing that keeps me motivated and my wheels on fire. Since blogging is like pulling teeth for me its always the last thing to get done. And I've got some catching up to do! Anyhoo, meet Patience. She's a 2013 senior at Rangeview High School. Patience is funny and sweet and has the most beautiful shade of aqua-blue eyes! We had a blast working this location and trying out different "senior pics" styles. And we laughed - alot. Hopefully, she wasn't just laughing at me! ;) Thanks again Patience! I absolutely adore all of your images!
